Bank on Women is dedicated to developing and promoting women leaders in community banking, striving to educate the industry on the importance of cognitive diversity and women in leadership roles. We have a national network of highly qualified Director and C-suite candidates, working with Boards and Corporate Governance Committees on efforts to promote gender diversity. Jennifer Docherty, Co-Founder, Founding Director and Chief Executive Officer – Bank on Women
Managing Director & Associate General Counsel, Financial Services Group – Piper Sandler
Jennifer Docherty is a managing director and associate general counsel in the financial services group at Piper Sandler. She has over 20 years of experience as a senior banking and legal advisor, including structuring and executing over $638 billion in capital raising for financial institutions since 2014, including over $25 billion through more than 130 debt and equity transactions in 2020. In addition to transactional work, Docherty works closely with management teams and boards of directors providing general strategic and industry advice. She is a frequent national speaker and panelist at industry conferences, and regular contributor to articles on banking and gender diversity.
Jessica Martino, Executive Director – Bank on Women
Jessica Martino is the Executive Director for Bank on Women, Inc. With over a decade of experience in the financial services industry, Ms. Martino has volunteered for Bank on Women, Inc. since its founding, and was hired as its Executive Director at the beginning of 2024. Read More…
Formerly, as a Vice President in the Financial Services Group at Piper Sandler Co., Ms. Martino served as the lead credit analyst in debt capital transactions, from initial credit screening and ratings process, through investor communications, and transaction execution. Previously, she was a senior associate in the Investment Banking Group at Sandler O’Neill + Partners, L.P., where her responsibilities included transaction execution and strategic advisory, with a focus on U.S. depository institutions. In this position with the Investment Banking Group, she played a key role in over 40 transactions, including the execution of public and private debt and equity capital offerings, as well as sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory assignments.
Prior to joining Sandler O’Neill in 2014, Ms. Martino was an associate at a publicly traded REIT, where she was responsible for direct communications with the analyst community; developing reports to track and evaluate operating performance; and monitoring current and potential markets for operational viability, profitability, and trends.
Ms. Martino holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California – Los Angeles, and is currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a competitive professional figure skater, representing Team USA in international competitions during her amateur career, and starring in an elite ice show that toured Europe.
